For the person who wants to cosplay steampunk, but doesn't have the time to make 100% custom footwear, these seem to be the right choice. Bought them for someone else and she loves them. I think the top part is detachable, so if you don't want to wear the top couple gears, you don't have to. We'll see how they hold up over time, but they seem to be a decent quality.
